About Inward Bound Yoga
Inward Bound Yoga is dedicated to supporting your health and wellbeing through the healing practice of Yoga based on the historical teachings of Yogacarya Sri T.Krishnamacharya.
Yoga Therapy is the mindful application of the tools of yoga (movement, breath, meditation, visualization and sound) to address the specific needs of an individual whether they be emotional, physiological or physical.

The Yoga Therapy model asks that you take on the challenge of supporting your healing through a daily commitment to practicing yoga. I will design a practice to support your health needs and which takes into account practical constraints.

1:1
Yoga Therapy works with students on a one-to-one basis. After a thorough assessment, a customized yoga practice is designed for you based on your unique needs, goals and abilities.

Self-Practice

Your customized yoga practice will be designed based on your health needs combined with the practicalities of your life.
You will need to dedicate time each day to your practice, whether it be 20 minutes to 2 hours - the practice will be designed based on your capacity.

Follow-up

We will schedule a follow-up approximately 4 weeks after your initial session. We will modify, expand or alter your practice based upon your progress and goals.

Proven techniques
Postures
During yoga therapy practice, postures (asanas) are performed mindfully, slowly and with ease — with the intent to support the free and unrestricted flow of breath (prana — which means life force or vital energy) into all parts of your body. Mindful asanas, combined with the free flow of prana, focus the mind and open the body to the process of healing from within.
Pranayama
Various breathing techniques are used throughout the practice (E.G — Inhales and holds after inhales increase energy and immune functionality; Exhales and holds after exhales reduce anxiety and invite relaxation).
Meditation
Meditation techniques support mindfulness, focus, quieting of the mind and relaxation of the body’s systems.
Visualizations and Chanting
Visualizations support focus, and serve to elevate our emotions. Sounds (chanting) supports extending the breath into the body, at the cellular and intracellular level.
Community focus
The Yoga Therapy Toronto studio in Downtown Toronto serves as a beautiful gathering place for a close-knit community of yogis. I was fortunate to have learned from Felicia and Ante Pavlovic as well as from Dr. N. Chandrasekaran (Dr. NC) and am honoured to carry their philosophies forward in my teaching.
